Executive Chef

Job Summary

The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations at Origin Kansas City. They will be responsible for creating and implementing menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for managing food costs, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement menus that are innovative, seasonal, and locally sourced
• Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
• Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
• Manage food costs by ordering supplies, controlling waste, and monitoring inventory
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment by following health and safety guidelines
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all food service needs are met
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
• Experience managing a team of kitchen staff
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
