Job Description
The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees, and visitors of the hotel. They are responsible for protection of all hotel assets, ensuring that hotel security policies and procedures are enforced and that the hotel is in full compliance to all local, state and federal regulations.
The Security officer also performs hotel security functions, including fire prevention, safety, investigation, and resolution of guest and employee complaints regarding safety and security matters.
Job Requirements
- Patrols property, inside and out during overnight shifts
- Check doors and stairways to make sure they are secure
- Respond to complaints and calls for help
- Purchase, maintain and monitor security cameras and alarm systems
- Escorts unruly patrons and loiters from the property
- Assists with securing taxi for inebriated guests
- Fills out report at end of shift
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years in Security role
- Applicable state certification as required
- Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred, Peace Officer training preferred
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of security/surveillance procedures
